The thrilling extended contest that saw the Los Angeles Dodgers overcome the Blue Jays 5-4 averaged a total 51 million watchers in the US, Canada, and Japanese territories. It also stands as the most-watched Fall Classic game after the 2017 final game between the Dodgers and Houston Astros, which averaged 29.07 million. This marks a sixteen percent increase compared to the last Game 7 featuring the Nationals and Astros, which attracted 23.19 million.

In the weekly rankings, the sixth game ranked fourth, the fourth game was seventh, Game 5 was 8th, and Game 3 landed in thirteenth position.

Global Viewership Figures

In the Canadian market, the game averaged 11.6 million watchers on the Sportsnet network and the French-language TVA Sports channel. This made it the most-watched English program in Canada after the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

In the Japanese market, where the final game started at 9 PM in the local time zone, it attracted 12M. This followed last Friday’s sixth game – in which World Series Most Valuable Player Yamamoto gave up one run in six innings – averaged 13.1M viewers, making it the most-watched Fall Classic matchup on a single network in the country.
